ŒC Control Characters

The niladic system function ŒC returns a vector of the 32 ASCII control characters and rubout. It is mainly useful for sending escape sequences to dumb terminals or other low-level devices. For example, with ŒIO (index origin) set to 1 (the default).

             ŒC[1]       is   NUL
             ŒC[8]       is   BELL
             ŒC[9]       is   BACKSPACE
             ŒC[10]      is   TAB
             ŒC[11]      is   LINE FEED
             ŒC[13]      is   FORM FEED
             ŒC[14]      is   CARRIAGE RETURN
             ŒC[28]      is   ESC
             ŒC[33]      is   RUBOUT

Note that some of these character positions have been assigned to line-drawing characters in some versions of APLX.
